Update from Nomadtopia: U.S. Travels 2012

October 3, 2012 |

Roberto and I have been in the U.S. for just over 100 days, so I thought I’d share a little more about what we’ve been up to!

For those of you interested in not only traveling but taking your business on the road, keep in mind that I launched and have been running two online programs, plus blogging (sometimes!), coaching private clients, and editing books, all while we’ve been on the road. It’s not always easy, but it can be done!

After flying from New Jersey to Portland, going to World Domination Summit, and then spending some time up in Seattle and Vancouver, we returned to Portland, picked up a car that was being loaned to us, and headed south.

We named our borrowed red chariot Ruby, which, conveniently, meant she already had her own theme song.

West Coast Road Trip by the Numbers  (Portland to San Diego and back)

Days on the road: 61
Miles driven: 4,338
Nights in hotels/vacation rentals: 14
Couches surfed: 3
Beds slept in: 17
Ounces of Dr. Pepper consumed while driving: too many to count
Times we saw a man walking on the side of the highway with an inflatable six-foot-tall globe: 1
Tires replaced: 2
Times I argued with the GPS: 3
Places we got locked out of: 1
Things we accidentally left behind somewhere: 0
Parking tickets: 1

It’s been a great trip so far! We’re looking forward to continuing the adventures on the East Coast for the next two months.
