Seeking What You Need vs Carrying It With(in) You
March 4, 2021 | Inspiration
I often describe location independence as “having the freedom to go where you can find what you need or want.” This is why everyone’s location-independent lifestyle looks different; we each need and want different things.
During our exploration of “home” in the Collective over the last month, several people have referred to Buddhist concepts about having everything we need with—or within—us, which can shift our perspective on home and perhaps allow any place to feel like home.
I’ve been thinking a lot about those ideas in relation to that definition of location independence above.
Are they mutually exclusive, or can you hold both at the same time?
To what extent are we seeking something that can be gained from the places we go and the experiences we have?
Can we simultaneously feel as though we already have everything we need, and how does one inform the other?
There are no easy answers here but I’m enjoying the exploration! In fact, the conversations around “home” in the Collective have been so rich that we’re going to extend this theme through March. Won’t you come join us? Click here for more information and to register.
